Beauty, Art and ME

This may sound a bit forceful but I've been a fan of hair and make-up artistry for so long! And I admire Michelle Phan for her achievements as an online makeup artist and as a Lancome Spokesperson. She's a painter/artist because of her passion to beauty she felt like every time she sees people she wanted to add a bit of color to make them look and feel more beautiful and confident about themselves. That's when she decided to share her ideas on YouTube. I like the idea! Michelle Phan's YouTube videos helped me a lot in applying make-ups but this time, I decided to try on a workshop... and I'm really excited about it! It's my first time and I even bought my own set of Brushes and ordered my Vanity Case.

After this Shu Uemura Workshop at Center for Aesthetic Studies, I'd like to enroll myself to certificate courses or perhaps a diploma to improve my "skills" and learn more about the artistry of hair and make-up. Who knows? I might get in to the spotlight of this business! Whew! I know, I know... I'm not as young as I was before, but I love make-ups! It makes me feel good when applying make-up to myself and even to others who wanted a different look. I'll take this chance, besides, I'm not that old to start a new. Nothing is too late especially when you're really in to it. :-)

So far, my favorite creation was when I transformed myself to a Tinker Bell... I designed the costume and created a Tinker Bell look suited to my age. The costume took two weeks to finish, my hair and make-up took me two and a half hours to finish, and it was really a big challenge considering that my reference was an animation. I had to be more creative to bring it to life. Whew! It was all worth it though! Next time, I'd like to try Geisha... the all-white look might seemed very easy to apply but on how to make it look natural is another big challenge! I have to do more research and a lot of practice. Oh, yeah! And make-up that will make me look like a Geisha.

Another thing that I need to learn is on how to apply make-up to others... it's really different when applying make-up to yourself. Though I've done several make-ups but there's not much pressure... for instance if I'll be applying one to a bride, there's time pressure and the people around and the location will really make you feel so uneasy. These are the things that I need to learn...

Hope that people will soon trust me to make them look more beautiful. In due time, I'll be accepting make-ups for brides, debutants, special occasions and even for photo shoot! I'm just around the corner.

Thanks for taking time to visit and read my blog... ;-)
