After three weeks of preparation for the first of the series of DIVER’S NIGHT PARTY FOR THE BENEFIT OF POLA, ORIENTAL MINDORO REEF MANAGEMENT PROJECT plan, last May 20, 2009, we finally had a very successful party! We saw new generations of scubadivers, new friends, and our valued sponsors come and celebrate the night with us. There were droves of people we never expected to come. My partner Myke Brazil-Legaspi and myself we’re just expecting that just a handful of scubadivers that we knew would be there but it was much to our suprise that there were a lot of new faces that came over and partied with us.
The preparation that nice was smooth and fast. We arrived the one O three Bar by past 6:00pm and already Mayor Alex Aranas and company came after a few minutes. We exchanged pleasantries with Mayor Aranas and gave briefing for the schedule press conference and interviews by our Media Partners Business Mirror, Philippine Graphic, PhilStar.com, Yehey.com and Inquirer Sports.
By 8:00pm the venue started to pickup with guests and sponsors. Our sponsors also were busy setting up their banners, finalizing last minute preparations, giveaway bags and prizes. The heat of the party came about around 9:00pm. We started giving away our raffle prizes from then on. It was one crazy night! Jagerrettes were around to give free Jager Shots. Everyone was more than happy with those free shots!
The night was a continuous party of drinks and raffles. Practically almost if not all of those who went to the party won one or twice some goodies from our sponsors. You can see everyone had a good time, seeing old dive buddies and new friends. They all came over not only to party but to participate and make their own little contribution to the Pola, Oriental Mindoro Reef Management Project that we will do afterwards. We got a lot of interests and pledges to volunteer as divers for this program. We all told them that we‘ll update them in our programs soon.
By almost 3:00am the party finished, a lot of tipsy but much satisfied, and all expressed to see each other in our next Diver’s Night Party. Yes divers and friends, we will see each other soon! More fun and exciting party and be updated in the Pola, Oriental Mindoro Reef Management Project. Indeed, life is good!
