Our THANKS

We, the PHILIPPINE REEFS MANAGEMENT CORP. in partnership with MARES DIVE EQUIPMENT, would like to thank all our volunteers and SCUBA Divers, supporters and partners in the recent 24TH INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEAN-UP ACTIVITY held in Mayumi Dive Resort, Anilao, Batangas last September 19, 2009. Through this valuable efforts, we have noticed a significant reduction of garbage in the area as we have collected a small amount of garbage compared to the previous years. It is such a satisfying news to hear that concerted efforts done through the years, with significant awareness by the communities and families living in the surrounding areas have reduced the garbage irresponsibly disposed.

The event organized by the PHILIPPINE REEFS MANAGEMENT CORP., tasked to work with companies such as MARES DIVE EQUIPMENT, Mayumi Dive Resort, Arthur's Place, Merck, Inc., www.DiveExpeditions.net, Subic Holiday Villas, Sunrise Holiday Mansion, Hildebrand, Schützen, YGN Trading: GARMIN GPS Systems, YGN Trading: SPOT Tracking & Messaging Device, Manila Ocean Park, Unilever Philippines, Atomic Aquatics, Halcyon, Seafood Island Restaurant with Media Partners BusinessMirror, PhilippineGraphic, Yehey.com, PhilStar.com, PinoyHenyo.com, Stir.ph, Max 103.5, Magic 89.9, RT 99.5, Jam 88.3, Wave 89.1 and Easy Rock 96.3. The event was also supported by the Municipality of Pola Oriental Mindoro, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary 128th Squadron, ScubaOne.net, Project Aware, Ocean Conservancy and Certified SCUBA Divers from PADI, SSI, NAUI and CMAS.

Our guests on this event are Ms. Cristy Ramos, Batangas Vice-Governor Marc Leviste, Mabini Mayor Nilo Villanueva, Batangas Governor Representative Fr. Levi, The Manila Times’ Erika Tapalla, Matanglawin Production Team and a whole lot more. With more than a hundred of SCUBA Divers and volunteers during the day event, it was a day of fun gathering of people doing worthwhile activities.

As the whole series of activities went on through out the day, the organizers would like to apologize to some unforeseen delays caused by some factors like the power outage that hampered the airfills of scuba tanks and late arrivals of some invited dive parties. All in all, fortunately it went on smoothly and everybody had a good time in the event. Until our next set of activities, we would like to wholeheartedly thank all those who helped and supported our project.

Special thanks to Ms. Liza Tang of Mares and Mr. James Omac of SSI for facilitating the Kids Awareness Activity; Mr. & Mrs. Regino & Susana Trajano for the underwater videos and photos; Atty. Philip Regondola and Mr. Hildebrand Barcarse of NAUI for assisting Ms. Erika Tapalla’s Intro Dive; Ms. Tish Aligada of Merck, Inc. for the Summary of Data; Mr. Tito Encarnacion of The Radio Partners, Inc.; Mr. Dan Abelarde and Mr. Norman Campoy of Mayumi Dive Resort; Ms. Lita Abrigonda of Arthur’s Place; Market Square and ABS-CBN Batangas.
