An Early Evening Look: Episode I

My meeting yesterday was at 5pm and I wanted to look a little of both day and night so I decided to apply a little color.

Maybe next time I will use a different camera to show the details of my creations.

Everyday Look: Episode I

Before & After: Everyday Make-up
This is a very simple LOOK. Hiding my dark spots and dark areas around my eyes. I didn't apply too much color except for my pinkish lips to brighten up my face a bit. For my eyeshadows, I blended brown, pink and white to smoothen the tone then blushed with pink and brown.

--My webcam didn't captured the real color of my make-up so it looks a bit pale, but it's very natural looking and not too flashy--

TRIAL MAKE-UP? Please email me at myke1976@gmail.com. Thanks!

My Materials: Part 1

Brushes

Vanity Case

32 Lip Color Palette

88 Fashion/Glam Eyeshadow Palette

88 Earth/Natural Eyeshadow Palette

10 Color Blush Palette

Finally! I have my own Vanity Case and Make-up Palettes. But I still need to shop for Foundations. I think I'm ready for TRIAL MAKE-UPS.

My soon-to-be Vanity Case

PRO 2 XL Vanity Case

Finally! After years of using different bags, pouches and boxes for my personal make-up and accessories, I'll get to house them where they really belong, a VANITY CASE. LegallyVain's pricing is really reasonable. Soon, I'll buy the LVN Color Palettes to practice with.

Beauty, Art and ME

This may sound a bit forceful but I've been a fan of hair and make-up artistry for so long! And I admire Michelle Phan for her achievements as an online makeup artist and as a Lancome Spokesperson. She's a painter/artist because of her passion to beauty she felt like every time she sees people she wanted to add a bit of color to make them look and feel more beautiful and confident about themselves. That's when she decided to share her ideas on YouTube. I like the idea! Michelle Phan's YouTube videos helped me a lot in applying make-ups but this time, I decided to try on a workshop... and I'm really excited about it! It's my first time and I even bought my own set of Brushes and ordered my Vanity Case.

After this Shu Uemura Workshop at Center for Aesthetic Studies, I'd like to enroll myself to certificate courses or perhaps a diploma to improve my "skills" and learn more about the artistry of hair and make-up. Who knows? I might get in to the spotlight of this business! Whew! I know, I know... I'm not as young as I was before, but I love make-ups! It makes me feel good when applying make-up to myself and even to others who wanted a different look. I'll take this chance, besides, I'm not that old to start a new. Nothing is too late especially when you're really in to it. :-)

So far, my favorite creation was when I transformed myself to a Tinker Bell... I designed the costume and created a Tinker Bell look suited to my age. The costume took two weeks to finish, my hair and make-up took me two and a half hours to finish, and it was really a big challenge considering that my reference was an animation. I had to be more creative to bring it to life. Whew! It was all worth it though! Next time, I'd like to try Geisha... the all-white look might seemed very easy to apply but on how to make it look natural is another big challenge! I have to do more research and a lot of practice. Oh, yeah! And make-up that will make me look like a Geisha.

Another thing that I need to learn is on how to apply make-up to others... it's really different when applying make-up to yourself. Though I've done several make-ups but there's not much pressure... for instance if I'll be applying one to a bride, there's time pressure and the people around and the location will really make you feel so uneasy. These are the things that I need to learn...

Hope that people will soon trust me to make them look more beautiful. In due time, I'll be accepting make-ups for brides, debutants, special occasions and even for photo shoot! I'm just around the corner.

Thanks for taking time to visit and read my blog... ;-)

  • If you take the flight to Cebu, you then take either a fastcraft (a 2hr. ride) or the slow boat (5 hr. trip) to Ormoc City.
  • If you take the flight to Tacloban City, you have to take a 1-1/2 hour car ride to Ormoc City.
By Boat
There are some shipping companies that have direct trips from Manila to Ormoc City.

By Bus/Car
One can drive to Ormoc City (a 24 hr road trip), or can take a bus. One the way, you'll pass through several provinces, and tourist attractions (like Mayon Volcano in Albay Province, Bicol).

From CEBU
By Boat
  • One can either take the Supercat fastcraft (Pier 4), which is a two-hour boat ride. There are three trips every day.
  • One can also take the slow boat. The trips takes about 5 hours and there are some boats depart at 1 p.m. and another boat leaves at 10:00 p.m. (and arrives at about 4 a.m. the following day).
By Car

One can drive to Ormoc, but will have to load your car on a barge (either in Cebu City or Danao City).

From MINDANAO

One can either take the bus directly to Ormoc or drive to Ormoc City. If you decide to take a plane or boat, the nearest airport and seaport would be Cebu.

8th TERRY LARRAZABAL BIKE FESTIVAL

OVERVIEW

The Terry Larrazabal Bike Festival (TLBF), which started in 2002, is the only multi-discipline cycling event of its kind in the Philippines and Asia, where races and other activities are held for three days in one location. The races include road, mountain bike downhill, mountain bike cross-country, trials, and BMX freestyle and jumping, among others. For the first time ever in its history, the 2011 edition of the TLBF will include several non-cycling events, which include a national football tournament with four (4) pitches, a marathon, Frisbee tournament and boxing tournament.

The festival is a celebration of bicycling as a sport, health and environmental advocacy avenue that’s been held yearly in Ormoc City, Leyte, and has also become one of the primary medium to promote Cyclo-Tourism in the Philippines. A highlight of the 2006 bike festival was the 3-day multi-stage road race around the province of Leyte called the “Tour de Larrazabal (TdL)”. The TdL was the first multi-day stage road race of it’s kind in the Philippines specifically designed for business executives who are also avid cyclists who wish to experience how it is to join a tour, just like the Tour de France (while also having a category for cycling professionals). The TdL has generated considerable interest not only in the Philippines. The TdL for 2008 featured scenic race routes showcasing the beautiful Subic Freeport.

For 2008 edition of the TLBF, the festival was held in Subic, with over 900 registered participants, and almost 5,000 cyclists who trooped to Subic to witness the festivities. For 2011, we will also be conducting the “3rd FilBike”, the first and only bicycle and outdoor themed expo, featuring all kinds of bicycles and equipment as well as bike riding and bike maintenance clinics.

The festival is officially endorsed and supported by the Department of Tourism and sanctioned by the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines.

In 2009, cycists from 14 countries flew to the Philippines to attend the TLBF.

For 2011, the Terry Larrazabal Bike Festival will be conducted on March 31 – April 1, in Ormoc City, Leyte.
